This is one of the Environments created for Quixel's 'Ninety Days' project, during which each individual artist in our team was tasked with completing as many different environment as possible, all in a timespan of 90 days.

I love making abandoned environments. There is a lot of story you can tell in environments like these. Working with a metahuman was super fun, even if it was cut for this release. Adding characters to our scenes is something I hope we can do more of in future projects.
The entire factory is built with surprisingly few assets. Essentially just 2 pillar assets along with some broken concrete and rusty iron beams. I made modular wall, floor and ceiling pieces that I just copy/pasted so I could scale the factory up and down quickly. Then I blasted some holes in the walls in strategic places to let more light in. Then by blocking the sunlight with tarp that move in the wind I could give the entire scene some extra motion.
Everything for 'Ninety Days' was created using the Epic Games and Quixel Ecosystem, meaning we used Megascans, Metahumans, Sketchfab and the Epic Marketplace.
