This is just a quick lighting doodle I did to refresh my UE4 lighting workflow as well as texturing workflow. I wanted to keep the scene simple and only use natural light. I also tried to make the lighting more stylized by making the images a bit more saturated and contrasty than the lighting reference photos I used. I then decided that I might as well reuse the scene and do a few different lighting scenarios.
My friend and Environment Artist Mia Boas (https://miaboas.com/) modeled the windmill. I then textured it with Painter and built the rest of the scene using assets from the KiteDemo and textures from Megascans. For the skydomes, I used images from Hdri Haven.
The idea for the project came from some paintings I found by the french painter Georges Michel.
